Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Wahaexpo For Exhibition and Events Organization ("Wahaexpo", "we", "us"), the organiser of TAQNYA 2026, the 15th Libyan International Forum & Exhibition for Communications and Information Technology, collects and uses personal information through taqnyaexpo.ly (the "Website") and at the event.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Wahaexpo For Exhibition and Events Organization (شركة الواحة لتنظيم المعارض والفعاليات), Tripoli, Libya, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, email info@wahaexpo.com.
2. What we collect
- Visitor registration: first and last name, email, mobile number, country, city, job title, company, industry, visitor type, sectors of interest, the days you plan to attend, how you heard about us, and your newsletter preference.
- Attendance: when your visitor pass is scanned at the entrance, we record the date and time.
- Exhibitor and booth requests: company details, contact person name, job title, email and phone numbers, sectors, booth preferences, requested services and notes.
- Sponsorship, media accreditation, B2B and contact forms: name, company or media outlet, job title, email, phone, country, the options you select and your message.
- Newsletter: your email address and preferred language.
- Technical data: our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and time). To stop abuse of our forms, we store a one-way coded version of your IP address with each submission, not the address itself.
3. Why we use it
- To register you, issue your visitor pass (with a QR code) and check you in at the entrance.
- To answer booth, sponsorship, media, B2B and general requests, and to contact you about them.
- To send you information about the event you registered for.
- If you opted in to our newsletter, to send you news about TAQNYA and our other events. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the Website and the event secure, prevent fraud and spam, and meet our legal obligations.
- To produce attendance figures and statistics that do not identify you.
4. Who can see it and who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. Inside Wahaexpo, only authorised staff, including our sales and marketing team, can access it, and only for the purposes above. Outside Wahaexpo, we share it only in these cases:
- Attendance figures: we publish and share visitor numbers and statistics, such as totals by country or sector. These do not identify you.
- Attendance audits: exhibition industry bodies such as UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) or AAXO (Arab Exhibition Organizers Association) may ask to check the accuracy of our attendance data. When needed for such a check, we may share the visitor list with them.
- Authorities: we may disclose information to the police or other government authorities in Libya when they request it or when the law requires it.
- Service providers that run the Website for us, such as our hosting provider LibyanSpider and our email delivery service. They process the data only to provide their service to us.
We do not give exhibitors or sponsors your personal details.
5. Cookies and third-party services
- The public Website does not set advertising cookies and does not use analytics or tracking tools.
- The booth request form can save your unfinished answers in your own browser ("Save & continue later"). This stays on your device until you submit the form.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, the venue map is provided by Google Maps, and event videos play from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (only after you press play). These services receive your IP address when they load, under their own privacy policies.
6. How long we keep it
- Visitor registrations: we keep them until 15 days after the exhibition ends, to validate attendance (for TAQNYA 2026, until about 3 January 2027). After that we delete your personal details and keep only statistics that do not identify you. We may keep specific records longer only while an attendance audit, a dispute or a request from the authorities that concerns them is still open.
- Exhibitor, sponsorship, media and contact requests: we keep them for as long as needed to handle your request and for our business records.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Copies in routine server backups are overwritten as part of the normal backup cycle.
7. How we protect it
The Website works only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only authorised staff can access submitted data, through a password-protected dashboard, and access is recorded. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you newsletters, by emailing info@wahaexpo.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply as soon as reasonably possible.
9. Where your data is stored
The Website is hosted by LibyanSpider, whose servers may be located outside Libya. By using the Website, you understand that your information may be stored and processed there.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed, and the current version is always the one on this page.
